Jason Parrish of Farmers & Merchants Bank was promoted to banking officer, credit administration, bank officials announced Monday.
A Metter native, Parrish joined FMB as a junior credit analyst in 2009, shortly after graduating from Georgia Southern University with a Master of Accounting degree. He also served FMB as credit analyst and information security officer before his recent promotion. His responsibilities include compiling complete, up-to-date data for loan approvals, using tax returns, financial statements and credit reports.
"I was fortunate get this job close to home soon after graduation," Parrish said. "It was a great learning experience beginning my career in banking during a recession. I've enjoyed working with FMB, and now it's especially exciting to see our bank grow and improve in all areas, especially lending. We're truly making the best of every moment."
He and his wife Jessica, a registered nurse at East Georgia Regional Medical Center, have lived in Statesboro since marrying in 2010. They have two daughters.
"Jason has been a valued, productive member of our team," FMB President Brett Morgan said. "We couldn't be more pleased to have him advance with us now, as we work to make our bank and our community more successful than ever."
Founded 68 years ago, FMB is now Bulloch County's only locally owned and managed bank. It offers a full range of consumer and business deposit and credit services. FMB services are fully available online, and the institution maintains three ATMs, two full-time branch locations in Statesboro, and another in Brooklet.
