In an email release Friday morning from Public Relations Director Hayley Greene, the Bulloch County school district “confirms that authorities have determined there is no credible threat to Southeast Bulloch's high school or middle school after a student made an alleged verbal threat.”

According to the release, Southeast Bulloch High School administrators and school resource officers on Wednesday began investigating reports of a student who made an alleged verbal threat against the school.

“School resource officers requested assistance from the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office,” Greene wrote in the release. “Law enforcement took the student into custody and transported the student to the Bulloch County Jail. The investigation remains active.”
Following the single incident, the school district continued to receive multiple threat reports through its anonymous reporting system, and users shared similar claims across social media platforms. Law enforcement has determined there is no credible threat, Greene wrote.
“Both Southeast Bulloch High School and Southeast Bulloch Middle School are operating on a normal schedule today. Out of an abundance of caution, law enforcement officers will maintain an increased presence on campus, and counseling teams are available to support any students who need assistance.”
District policy requires school officials to notify law enforcement immediately in the event of any threat, the email stated.

“Under the Bulloch County Schools Code of Conduct, any verbal, written, or physical expression of intent to cause harm or violence requires a mandatory report to police, even if no weapon is displayed and no physical attack occurs.”
