A Clito man is behind bars after Bulloch County Sheriff's deputies arrested him on charges of molesting a teenage relative.
Stephen Hansel Dyches, 37, Buck Creek Road, was charged with child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes, statutory rape, and incest, according to jail records.
Bulloch County Sheriff's Inv. Bill Black said Dyches is accused of sexual assault against a teenage girl to whom he is related. The sexual assault incidents have been ongoing for at least four years, he said.
The teenage victim, who Black said is physically unharmed, told an adult relative about the molestation, prompting a sheriff's report and leading to Dyches' arrest, he said.
Black is still investigating the case, but referred the girl and her family to the Bulloch County Department of Family and Children Services, where she will be provided counseling and other opportunities, he said.
The incidents of sexual assault and molestation occurred in the victim's Buck Creek Road home, he said.
Dyches was arrested Monday on the Georgia Southern University campus, at his place of employment, Black said.
Dyches is being held in the Bulloch County Jail without bond.
