Bulloch 911 memorial service set for Tuesday

Bulloch County’s 17th Annual 9/11 Memorial Service is set for Tuesday at 9 a.m. at Bulloch Memorial Gardens on Highway 80 East.

The event is free and hosted by Joiner Anderson Funeral Home and Bulloch Memorial Gardens.

The program will be presented by Statesboro and Bulloch County public safety departments, with Statesboro Police Chief Mike Broadhead serving as keynote speaker, said Bulloch Memorial Gardens spokesperson Cindy Hulsey.

An honor guard comprised from several different public safety agencies will present the flags and offer a 21-gun salute and others from the Statesboro Fire Department, Bulloch County Fire Department, Bulloch County EMS, Statesboro Police, Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies will speak and participate in the memorial ceremony, she said.

Doughnuts and coffee will be served afterward. The public is invited to attend.

Last year, the ceremony was canceled due to inclement weather.
