The Food Bank’s third annual Kaleidoscope Fundraiser is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12.

Tickets for the event that will be held at the Food Bank off Northside Drive, are $39 per person or $78 per couple. Corporate or Friends & Family tables also are available. Both tickets and tables may be purchased online at https://givebutter.com/kaleidoscope2026. You may also purchase directly from your phone – text Kalei26 to 53-555 and follow the prompts.

The evening, sponsored by Brodie International, will feature a fall harvest-inspired meal, including BBQ ribs by Rev. Chef Harris, and other dishes by local chefs. Live music will be provided by both The Chris Mitchell Band and GSU Jazz Quartet. Outdoor events will include a Corn Hole Competition and the Boro the Hatchet mobile unit.

A silent auction, featuring unique items and experiences, offers an opportunity to directly support The Food Bank programs.

"We serve not only Statesboro and Bulloch County, but clients from the contiguous counties and further," Executive Director, Sheila Stewart-Leach said. "If someone asks us for food, we do our best to provide at least three meals a day for a week."

Stewart-Leach noted that demand has increased exponentially in the past two years.

"When we first moved to our new building in 2024, we served an average of 300 families per week. That year's hurricanes, Debby and Helene, pushed that number to 860 per week. Following that, our new normal became an average of 500 families per week.

"Then in the fall of 2026, the SNAP crisis pushed our numbers to 850 families per week. Those numbers have not fallen. In fact, for the past four months, we have been providing meals for an average of 900 families per week. Our October numbers are closer to 1,000 families."

Stewart-Leach said that Food Bank records indicate that more than 95% of Food Bank clients come one time per month or less.

"We are not serving the same families every week," she said. "Most come once or twice, during a difficult time, then re-establish their family budget; some even begin to donate or volunteer."

Proceeds from the Nov. 12 event will be used to provide nutritious food, educational resources, and emergency support for individuals, families, seniors and children in need.
