Annual Farm-to-Table fundraiser set for Henderson Library

What: Ninth Annual Farm-to-Table fundraising dinner
When: Thursday, June 14, at 6:30 p.m.
Where: The Belle House

The Ninth Annual Farm-to-Table fundraising dinner on behalf of Georgia Southern University’s Zach S. Henderson Library is set for Thursday, June 14. 

The event will be held at the Belle House, 380 Westside Drive, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The menu by Honey Catering will use ingredients purchased at the Statesboro Main Street Farmers Market.  Relinda Walker, Statesboro Main Street Market manager, will be the featured speaker, and Dr. Michael Braz will provide musical entertainment during the pre-dinner cocktail mingling. 

Proceeds from this year’s Farm-to-Table Dinner will go to the Bede and Carrie Mitchell Library Endowment for Nursing, which provides information resources essential to the Georgia Southern University School of Nursing programs. The dinner supports local agriculture by creating gourmet delicacies using ingredients purchased at the Statesboro Main Street Farmers Market.

Relinda Walker has worn many hats in her life: teaching mathematics, working for an educational testing service, serving in executive management with technology companies in New Jersey, and, as an organic farmer in Screven County, earning the 2011 Land Stewardship Award from Georgia Organics. 

Walker assumed the duties of Statesboro Main Street Market manager in 2018. Her keynote address will focus on the importance of supporting local agriculture and future plans for the Statesboro Main Street Market.
