Mr. and Mrs. Hank Maierhoffer of Sylvania, Georgia, announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Ashley Maierhoffer of Sylvania, Ga., to Andrew Benjamin Amason Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Andy Amason Sr. of Valona, Ga.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. Henry Maierhoffer Sr. and Mrs. Bonnie Maierhoffer and Mr. and Mrs. Lenny Yeoman. Lauren is a full-time student at Georgia Southern University, pursuing a degree in Child and Family Development. She currently works as children’s director at New Covenant Church.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Amason, Mr. and Mrs. William Cabell and Mrs. Virginia Bartels. Andrew graduated in May of this year with a degree in Information Technology. He is currently employed at Memorial Hospital in Savannah, Ga.
    The couple has planned to wed on August 3, 2012, at 5:30 p.m. at Statesboro New Covenant Church.
