Mr. and Mrs. James Everett Tucker

Mr. and Mrs. James Everett Tucker of Register will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on Feb. 2. The couple was married Feb. 2, 1951, at First Baptist Church of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Mrs. Tucker is the former Doris Jean Treadway. They have six daughters, Janis Hope of Wilmington Island, Georgia; Lynn (Emory) Pierce of Millen, Georgia; Susan (Jeffrey) Holland of Register, Debbie (Al) Smith of Coconut Creek, Florida; Julie (Kelly) Williams of Pulaski, Georgia; Tracey (Jeff) Vickery of Register; and 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The couple worked together on their family farm in the Register area for many years. After retirement, they enjoyed relaxing at their mountain home in Franklin, North Carolina. They now enjoy spending time with their daughters and their families, celebrating many different special occasions with them.  The Tuckers are a true blessing to their family and all of those that know them. They are a great example of love and commitment to each other and what a lasting marriage should be. They are members of Excelsior Baptist Church, and are shown here on their wedding day and in a recent photo.
