Local Roundup: Bryan County wraps with DH sweep

    PEMBROKE — The Bryan County Lady Redskins (22-7) wrapped up the regular season with a pair of wins over Effingham County Tuesday at home.
    Both were won in dramatic fashion.
     Rebecca Strickland hit a walkoff, two-run homer in the first game as BCHS won 4-3.
    The second game saw Strickland go 2-for-2 with a double, a run and an RBI and Bryan score three runs in the top of the fifth and final inning.
    Tiffany Howard, who went 3-for-4 in the second game, pitched both wins and improved to 18-6 on the season.
    The Region 3-A tournament begins today with Bryan County hosting Treutlen in a 3:30 p.m. doubleheader.

Dolphins net GSU
    Georgia Southern Men’s Soccer scored an early goal, but allowed a pair of Jacksonville goals to fall 2-1 at Eagle Field on Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 28th). The loss is Georgia Southern’s first at home and moves the Eagles to 5-3-1 on the season while the Dolphins improve to 3-5-1 overall.
