Mr. Jerry Bernard Johnson

Mr. Jerry Bernard Johnson, age 67, of Hinesville, Ga., passed on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at East Georgia Regional Medical Regional Center in Statesboro, Ga.

He was educated in the Bulloch County School System.

He was employed at Northside Hospital and the Atlanta Constitution in Decatur, Ga., for many years. Jerry then went on to work for NCO Academy in Fort Stewart, Ga., as a head cook for 18 years.

He was a member of Beautiful Zion Baptist Church in Pembroke, Ga.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Mattie Lee Johnson; sister, Janice Johnson; three brothers, Gerald Johnson, Billy Johnson and Ronnie Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Marrelle Johnson, Hinesville, Ga.; children, Carlus Johnson, Eric Johnson and Mataya Johnson, all of Decatur, Ga.; and Danaria Latrice, Atlanta, Ga.; sisters, Barbara (Homer) Holloway, Ellabell, Ga.;  Cynthia Devillars, Richmond Hill, Ga.; and Betty Malden, Hinesville, Ga.; brothers, Anthony Johnson and John Henry Johnson Jr., Pembroke, Ga.; three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, several grandchildren and one great-grandchild, whom he loved dearly; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home Chapel, 238 West Main Street, Statesboro, GA 30458.

The celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Second Saint John Missionary Baptist Church, 1212 McDougald Parkway, Statesboro, GA 30458 with Craig R. Tremble, eulogist. Interment will be at the Eastside Cemetery, 1502 Northside Drive, Statesboro, GA.

We will adhere to CDC guidelines.
