STATESBORO, Ga. – Marshall Richards Ransom, 76, of Statesboro, Ga., formerly of Ormond Beach, Fla., died July 27, 2026. He was born on July 10, 1950, in Schenectady, N.Y., to Donald Ransom and Margaret (Frankling) Ransom.

Marshall graduated from Seabreeze High School in 1968 as valedictorian of his class. An educator who left a lasting impression on students, Marshall spent 30 years in the Volusia County School System. Upon retiring, Marshall moved to Statesboro, Ga., where he taught mathematics at Georgia Southern University.

He is survived by his love of 26 years, Sharon Taylor; children, Jeannette (Ronny) Remington, Richie Ransom, Patrick Ransom and Maureen Ransom; grandchildren, Lillian Ransom, Evan Ransom, Kennedy Remington, Miles Remington and Charlotte Ransom; granddogs, Stryker and Blue Magoo; brothers, Bruce Ransom and Doug (Wendy) Ransom; and nieces, Monica (Jason) Pomroy and Kendra (Chris) Lewis.
