Mrs. Ruby Lee Reddick

McDonough/Millen, Ga. — Mrs. Ruby Lee Reddick, age 93, died on Monday, May 21, 2018, at her residence in McDonough. 

The Bulloch County native was a graduate of Marvin Pittman High School. She worked at Union Bag, where she met her husband of 64 years, Hayman Reddick. They lived in Atlanta until 1970 before moving to Millen, Ga., where they started an accounting business. Mrs. Ruby took over the business and the care of Hayman after his stroke in 1976. She retired from the Jenkins County Training Center in 2000. She was a lifelong member of the Millen Methodist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hayman L. Reddick; her parents, Nesbitt and Sarah Smith Lee; sisters, Lottie Stills, Sarah Deal, Mary Best, Lillie Johnson and Parnell Lee; a brother, JN Lee; and two sons-in-law, Joe Tapley and Richard Babineau. 

Surviving are one son, Glenn (Evelyn) Reddick of Tybee Island, Ga.; four daughters, Loraine (Lolee) Reddick Cater of Morrow, Ga.; Karen Babineau of Valrico, Fla.; Anita Reddick of McDonough; and Freda (Phil) Brinson of Millen, Ga.; a brother, Willie Frank Lee of Statesboro; a sister, Myrtle Kicklighter of Savannah, Ga.; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Lee and Daphine Reddick; a brother-in-law, Roger Reddick; five grandchildren, Kim (Audienco) Tapley-Garza, Lisa (Phillip) Wilson Hodges, Lauren (Nathan) Tapley, Eric Wilson and Nicholas Babineau; and great-grandchildren, Ethan Trawick, Jace Ziegler, Harper Hodges, Alex Garza, Ava Hodges, Wyatt Garza and soon-to-come baby boy Garza. 

A visitation will be held on Thursday from 11 a.m. until noon, followed by a funeral service at noon in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with daughter Freda Brinson officiating. 

Pallbearers will be Eric Wilson, Nathan Zeigler, Nicholas Babineau, Terry Lee, J.J. Lee, William Lee and Jace Zeigler. 

Interment will be in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Statesboro, Ga., with the Rev. Lionel Marmolejo officiating. 

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
