All classes on Tuesday and Wednesday at Georgia Southern University are cancelled, the university announced Sunday afternoon.

The university made the decision in the wake of the uncertain path and timing of Hurricane Dorian possibly affecting the Southeast Georgia area.

All Georgia Southern campuses in Statesboro, Hinesville and Savannah will be closed on those days.

Michelle Davis, vice president for College Advancement at Ogeechee Technical College, said Monday morning that OTC also will cancel classes on Tuesday and Wednesday. She said the college  plans to resume a normal schedule on Thursday.

Bulloch County Schools will make a decision on potential school closings by Monday at 3 p.m., according to Hayley Greene, public relations and marketing specialist with the school system.

Bulloch Academy announced that officials are monitoring the hurricane and will announce any decision when appropriate.

According to its website, East Georgia State College also is canceling all classes on Tuesday in Wednesday in Statesboro. Classes in Swainsboro and Augusta will go on without change.
