After the first four days of early voting, Tuesday through Friday, 3,432 Bulloch County citizens, or 6.2% of the county’s currently registered voters, have voted early or by returning absentee ballots toward the Nov. 3 general election. Now the elections office in the County Annex, 113 North Main St., Suite 201, will host Saturday voting, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 17.
This Saturday is the first of two advanced-voting Saturdays. The other will be Oct. 24, with the County Annex site open those same hours.
Weekdays, the County Annex location will also be open for voters again 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, Oct. 19-23 and Monday-Friday, Oct. 26-30. (Notice that the annex is the only location for voting on either of the two Saturdays and that Saturday voting begins an hour later than weekday voting.)
GSU 3-day site
Next week, a room on the Georgia Southern University campus, in the Russell Union building at 85 Georgia Avenue, will also be open for advanced in-person voting during three days only, Tuesday-Thursday, Oct. 20-22, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
New Brooklet site
New this season, Brooklet City Hall, 104 Church St. in Brooklet, will be staffed for early voting in the county and state election in the final five days, Monday-Friday, Oct. 26-30, also from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
The first four days’ early voting total included 3,208 in-person voters and 224 absentee ballots returned, while Bulloch County as of Friday had 55,644 registered voters, according to an unofficial update from Election Supervisor Shontay Jones.
