Quick response from Bulloch County Sheriff’s deputies Wednesday after a robbery by “sudden snatch”  at a local convenience store resulted in the arrest of two suspects.
One man was found in a nearby subdivision, and the second was nabbed when he returned to the scene at Clyde’s #74 on U.S. 301 North near Veteran’s Memorial Parkway, said Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson.
“Deputies Travis Tuenge and Ed Akins arrived within seconds of the initial dispatch” to the convenience store that is within sight of the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Department, he said.
After hearing the call, with descriptions of the suspects given over the air, the deputies found Marquels Cedregas Lee, 17, Cotton Avenue, in the vicinity of Pinemount Subdivision, he said.
The victim, who said he was robbed by two men around 3:19 p.m., identified Marquels Lee as one of the two men who robbed him, Anderson said.
It wasn’t long before deputies spotted another suspect “loitering in the area” of the convenience store where the robbery occurred, he said. Adrian Christopher Lee, 22, Cotton Avenue, was also identified by the victim.
“Subsequent investigation led to the recovery of the victim’s wallet in Foxridge Apartments … on Packinghouse Road,” he said. Incident reports stated the wallet was recovered, but minus $409 in cash.
Both men were charged with robbery by sudden snatching and taken to the Bulloch County Jail, where they are being held without bond, he said.
Anderson said he commends the deputies for their quick response to the call, as well as information provided during the investigation by “concerned citizens and staff at Clyde’s and Foxridge Apartments.”
Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact Bulloch County Sheriff’s Inv. Bill Black at (912) 764-1765 or 764-8888.
