Navy gunner's mate from Sylvania goes through practice drills in the East China Sea

Sylvania native Cory Dykes is a Gunner’s Mate Chief aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Rafael Peralta currently on duty in the East China Sea.

The Rafael Peralta destroyer is forward deployed and assigned to Commander, Task Force 71/Destroyer Squadron 15, The squadron is the Navy’s largest destroyer squadron and the U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal surface force.
