Metter police hope citizens can identify a man they said robbed a fast-food restaurant employee at gunpoint.

Just after 9 p.m. Monday, "an unknown subject walked into the Subway restaurant on Lewis Street, ordered a sandwich and robbed the clerk at gunpoint," Metter Police Chief Dennis Nelson said. "The unknown gunman then fled the scene, leaving with an undisclosed amount of currency and the sandwich."

The offender is described as "a tall black male wearing a black hoodie and a very distinctive Michael Jordan ‘Jumpman True Snapback' baseball style cap," he said. "The cap appears to be possibly a navy or dark blue color with a white logo and white or gold trim. The cap also has the ‘Jordan' stickers on the bill."

He hopes someone will be able to identify the suspect.
Without the community's help, cases of this nature could potentially go unsolved, he said. The suspect is considered armed and the case is under investigation.

Anyone having any additional information on this case, or who knows the identity of this suspect, is asked to contact Investigator Justin Wells at (912) 685-2190 or jwells@metterpd.com. Tips can also be submitted at www.metterpd.com.
