Dentistry From the Heart says thank you

Editor:
I wish to offer a genuine “Thank You” to those that helped us create a successful Dentistry From The Heart event on Friday, December 13.  Dentistry from the Heart is worldwide nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free dental care to those in need.
We were able to provide 56 local citizens with free-of-cost emergency and preventive care in an effort to allow a comfortable Christmas holiday. We had volunteers from the dental assisting program at Ogeechee Technical College, pre-dental students at Georgia Southern University and dental hygiene students from Southeastern Technical College in Vidalia.  Both Chick-fil-A and Subway were so kind as to provide food for all workers as a compliment of their support. We were provided support supplies from McCook’s Pharmacy, Patterson Dental Company as well as Lewis-Goetz Company.
Drs. Uribe, Lala and Patel and their staff from East Georgia Center for Oral and Facial Surgery were invaluable in their support as they saw 26 patients with surgical needs. Finally, I want to thank my wonderful staff that worked tirelessly in planning for and implementing this compassionate program. We hope to make this an annual event as a way of giving back to a community that has been so good to us.

Richard F. Marz, D.D.S.
