Meagan Johnson Lee

The Holiday Inn Express Statesboro hotel has named Ted L. Hasbrouck general manager of its 91-room hotel and Meagan Johnson Lee its director of sales. The hotel, located at 427 South Main St., is set to open early 2020.

In his role as general manager, Hasbrouck will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the hotel.

Hasbrouck has more than 45 years of hospitality experience and first started in the business working as a front desk agent while attending Texas State University.

He began his career as a general manager in 1984 and has since managed top hotel brands including Hilton, Sheraton, Marriott and a total of seven Holiday Inn hotels. Many of the Holiday Inn hotels Hasbrouck managed were repeat award-winning hotels, in the top 5% in the brand.

“I’m excited to be a part of this period of growth in Statesboro, and the Blue Mile development, specifically,” Hasbrouck said. “For the last three years, I have done extensive travel in the business, and now, this great new hotel is located near our lovely home. My wife and I plan to remain residents here, because it is such a beautiful area and has the best quality people I’ve ever met.”

In her new role, Lee will be responsible for sales and marketing for the hotel and will primarily work with group and corporate travel.

Lee has more than six years of hotel sales experience and is very familiar with the Statesboro market.  She began her hospitality career as the assistant sales manager for the Holiday Inn Statesboro – University Area where she was front desk manager and finally director of sales.  She worked as the director of sales for five years until September 2018, when she accepted a sales representative position with Takeda Pharmaceuticals.

Lee holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Georgia Southern University and a Master of Science degree in Marketing from Clemson University.

“I’m very excited to be back in Statesboro doing what I love,” Lee said. “I feel very fortunate to be promoting a new hotel on the Blue Mile so close to Georgia Southern University’s campus. I look forward to building on the reputation and success that is the Holiday Inn Express brand.”

The hotel, which is one of 2,618 Holiday Inn Express hotel locations around the globe, is owned and managed by Blue Mile Hospitality, LLC., under a license agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group. The Holiday Inn Express brand is part of IHG’s family of brands in nearly 100 countries and territories. InterContinental Hotels Group is one of the world’s leading hotel companies.
