The Exchange Club of Statesboro received two prestigious national honors from the National Exchange Club Convention held in Omaha, Nebraska, in July, recognizing the club’s commitment to serving the community and protecting children.

The club received the C.A.R.E. (Child Abuse Reduction Effort) Award for its “Bluing of the Fountain” project, an awareness campaign held during National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The project transformed the downtown Statesboro fountain into a brilliant blue display, serving as a visual reminder of the community’s commitment to preventing child abuse and supporting local families.

The Exchange Club of Statesboro also earned the Outstanding Community Service Project Award for its “Donations to the Fire Victims of Brantley County” initiative. Club members mobilized quickly to collect and deliver essential supplies and financial assistance to families affected by the devastating fires, demonstrating the Exchange Club’s mission of serving communities in times of need.

“We are incredibly honored to receive these national recognitions,” said Rhonda Busby, Georgia District president of the National Exchange Club and a member of the Exchange Club of Statesboro. “These awards belong to every member who volunteered their time and every community partner who supported these efforts. Together, we showed that when our community comes together, we can make a real difference in the lives of children and families.”

The National Exchange Club annually recognizes clubs across the country for exceptional programs in its core areas of service: Americanism, Community Service, Youth Programs and the Prevention of Child Abuse.

“Receiving two national awards in the same year is a tremendous honor for our club and our community,” Busby said. “We are proud to represent Statesboro on the national stage and remain committed to improving the quality of life for those we serve.”

The Exchange Club of Statesboro meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month and welcomes community members who are interested in making a positive impact through volunteer service.
