City looking for One Boro and Keep Statesboro Beautiful board members

The City of Statesboro is currently accepting applications for appointments to its Greener Boro Commission and Keep Statesboro-Bulloch Beautiful Advisory Board. 

The deadline to apply for an appointment is Friday, Sept. 27 at 5 p.m. Completed applications should be submitted to the office of the City Clerk by email to leah.harden@statesboroga.gov. Applications for each of the open positions may be found at www.statesboroga.gov/boards-commissions.


Keep Statesboro-Bulloch Beautiful Advisory Board

The Keep Statesboro-Bulloch Beautiful Advisory Board was established in October 2016 and consists of seven members appointed by the mayor and City Council. The appointments are for two-year terms. 

The Keep Statesboro-Bulloch Beautiful Advisory Board has the authority to prepare studies and reports to inform the Council, city officials and city staff on policy matters related to implementing the goals of the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation within the city of Statesboro. 

The board currently meets on the third Monday of each month at noon in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 50 East Main Street. 


One Boro Commission

The One Boro Commission, formerly the Commission on Diversity and Inclusion, was established in September 2018 and consists of 16 members appointed by the mayor and City Council. 

The commission promotes diversity, inclusion and equity among the citizens of Statesboro. The commission's objective is to "foster innovation, community awareness and ownership of public policy while also seeking to improve experiences for every citizen of Statesboro through open communication and collaboration."

The commission currently meets on the first Monday of each month at 5:30 pm in the Statesboro Human Resources conference room, 58 E. Main St.
