Jessica Garner of the Statesboro Regional Library removes books from shelves in preparation for new carpeting Tuesday. The library is closed for the entire week as new carpet is torn out and then installed on both floors of its South Main Street building. Assistant library director Cora Fay said it has been nearly 15 years since the last time the carpet was changed. The library will reopen Monday, though the second floor will be closed until carpeting is finished.
