Boros Cartee named to Leadership Georgia class

Dawn Cartee
    Dr. Dawn Cartee, interim president at Southeastern Technical College in Vidalia, has been named to the 2007 Leadership Georgia Class.  
    A state committee selected her among 60 participants.
    A Statesboro resident, Dr. Cartee has worked in technical education for 15 years. She served as vice president of Student Services at Ogeechee Technical College for five years and vice president for Academic Affairs at Southeastern Technical College in Vidalia since 1999.  
    “I am very excited about becoming part of the Leadership Georgia program,” said Dr. Cartee.  “I know how important cultivating our leaders to learn more about our communities and our state is. It is a true honor to be selected to be a part of the 2007 Class.”
    Dr. Cartee holds a Doctorate in Educational Administration from Georgia Southern University, where she also received her Specialist in Education degree, a Master’s Degree in Adult Education, as well as her Bachelor’s in Marketing. She was also named to Georgia Trend’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2005. She was a graduate of Leadership Southeast Georgia, of the Georgia Academy for Economic Development, and Leadership Bulloch.
    The Leadership Georgia class runs from January to December and contains five two-and-a-half day programs.  Affiliated with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, the Leadership Georgia organization has fielded numerous highly influential state and national leaders.  
    Dr. Cartee resides in Statesboro with her husband Jamey, who is president of St. Andrews Builders.
