Brad Sheffield, regional retail sales manager for Synovus in Statesboro, was named to the Leadership Georgia Class of 2019.
Leadership Georgia is a prestigious 48-year-old organization of community and state leaders. Affiliated with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Georgia trains and builds a network of emerging young leaders from across the state. Past participants include a number of influential state and national leaders ranging from former U.S. Senator Sam Nunn to former University of Georgia Athletic Director Vince Dooley.
Sixty-three participants were selected this year from a pool of several hundred applicants. Class members visit five Georgia communities in a yearlong exchange of ideas and experiences about important issues affecting the state.
President Jennifer Evans will lead the 2019 Class of Leadership Georgia. With a theme of “Georgia United,” the 2019 program will visit Brasstown Valley, Albany, Gainesville, Perry and Washington D.C.
