REGISTER, Ga. -- Mrs. Alice Ruth Burke Dickerson passed peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 27th, 2019, surrounded by her family at the age of 78, under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice.
    Alice was born in Savannah in 1941. She spent her life as a homemaker. Alice was a member of the Register Baptist Church.
    Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, James Edward Dickerson Sr.; and son, James Edward Dickerson Jr.
    She is survived by their son, Kenny Dickerson (Tracy) of Brooklet; two daughters, Karen D. Todd of Register and Kimberly Morgan (Billy) of Statesboro; 11 grandchildren, Joshua Dickerson, Christine Jordan (William), Zachary Dickerson, Alissa Dickerson, Lemuel Todd (Akalie), Cameron Todd (Nichole), Kacy Tapley, Brandon Tapley, Airen Tompkins, Beth Morgan, Genny Morgan; two great-grandchildren, Ally Dickerson and Pierce Jordan; and special friend, Mike Garrett.
    The family will receive visitors on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour at the Register Baptist Church.
    The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary with the Rev. Jim Correll officiating. Interment will follow in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
    Pallbearers will be Cameron Todd, Brandon Tapley, Joshua Dickerson, Zachary Dickerson, Darrin Dickerson and Cory Ward.
    The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Register Baptist Church Building fund, 8 Church Street, Register, GA 30452.
