Toys For Tots wrestling, dinner fundraiser set for December 7
Toys for Tots

It's a Toys for Tots drive with a twist — bring a toy for an underprivileged child and enjoy dinner and a show at the same time.

Saturday, Dec. 7, American Premier Wrestling in Statesboro will host BRAWL 50, a Toys for Tots dinner fundraiser that offers over two hours of professional wrestling, all the Nonna Picci's pizza you can eat, and the joy of helping Santa bring Christmas cheer to less fortunate children, said organizer Tom Caiazzo.

This will be the '11th annual pro wrestling fundraiser extravaganza to raise money and toys for the Toys for Tots Foundation,' he said. Proceeds from the admission will be used to buy additional toys to deliver to kids who may not otherwise have a great Christmas.

'This 2 ½ plus-hour fundraiser dinner show will be held inside the award-winning Statesboro STEAM Academy in Statesboro,' he said. 'Dinner seating starts at 5:30 p.m. with an official bell time of 6 p.m.'

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for those 10 and under. The ticket includes all the pizza you can eat, plus drinks, sponsored by Statesboro's Nonna Picci's restaurant.

'There will also be a Toys for Tots drop box, so please bring an unwrapped new toy,' he said.

The show is guaranteed to be exciting, said Tommy

Nero, APW's promoter and director of this fundraising effort. 'This yearly event is stacked with stars like none other, such as World Champion Iron Mike, Andrew Avery, the giant Amor, women's champion Little T, and the most technically sound and electrifying tag-team in all of pro wrestling, the Hollywood Pain,' he said. 'APW and the Toys for Tots Foundation are partners and friends, and we have organized this fundraiser to be once again fun and entertaining for the entire family.' Willie Haynes, longtime Toys for Tots coordinator, said he is excited about the event. 'Over the years, APW has partnered with the Toys for Tots to help bring the joy of Christmas to less fortunate children in Bulloch County and the city of Statesboro, and also send a message of hope,' he said.

The community has embraced this event and 'it is growing more and more each year,' Caiazzo said.

'The event would not have been possible without our sponsors, and we ask that you support them and buy local. Some sponsors include D& R Car Care, NAPA, Nonna Picci, GATA Law & Landscaping, Hall & Navarro Law Firm, STEAM Academy, Bulloch Janitorial and Supply, and RaDonna Sapp AllState insurance.
