The SUV that a Richmond Hill woman was driving ran off U.S. Highway 80 East "for an unknown reason" before it crashed and killed her, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

A GSP spokeswoman said Ann Loraine Womble, 30, was driving eastbound on Highway 80 East near Prather Road when it ran off the road.

According to the trooper's report from which the spokeswoman read, the 2009 Kia traveled 576 feet along the shoulder and ditch before striking a tree. That impact sent the vehicle into a spin, and while spinning, it traveled another 38 feet before striking another tree. On that impact, the SUV caught fire, and the vehicle was consumed, the report says.

Bulloch County Coroner Jake Futch said Friday that no autopsy will be performed. He ruled the death accidental, caused by blunt force trauma to the body as the result of the motor vehicle accident.

Troopers were dispatched to the scene at 10:31 p.m. Wednesday. According to the GSP, there were no witnesses to the crash, and Womble had no passengers.

A stretch of Highway 80 near the accident scene was closed for more than hour after the crash.
