An 18-year-old lost his life after he was reportedly shot near the Subway restaurant in Millen, Wednesday, in what officials say appeared to be an accidental shooting. Millen Police Department and Jenkins County Sheriff's Office responded to the calls reporting the incident, said Chief Dwayne Herrington with Millen PD. Upon further investigation, Herrington said it was discovered that Brandon McKenzie of Buttermilk Road, Sylvania, had been taken by a friend to the Jenkins County Hospital from the scene of the shooting. McKenzie was pronounced dead at the Emergency Room, said Herrington.
