Editor:

I am Sissy Carter and I am one of four candidates running for City Council for the town of Portal.

I am married to Mike Carter who is a life-long resident of Portal. I myself have lived in Portal for 35 years. Together, we have five daughters and, like their father, they all graduated Portal schools.

My mission is to represent the people of Portal in seeing their money is spent in the highest regard for potential and betterment of everyone in this community. I believe I offer a fresh perspective, possibility and positive energy. It is time to value the voices of the people. I care about Portal and you, the citizens of Portal. I want to be a part of the solution to the problems facing our city. In summary, it will be my continued duty to work for the people. I will stand up for my convictions on the City Council and for the concerns of the citizens of Portal. I will listen and be accountable to you, the citizens.

I, Sissy Carter, will be committed to being a person you can always count on to listen to the concerns of the people. "People first, always." With the members of the City Council, I will represent the people of Portal, and work hard to contribute to the safety and social-economic recovery of the city.

I am asking for your support, and your vote, on Nov. 5. Together, we will get our city "moving forward" again.

Respectfully,
Sissy Carter
