Board of Regents come to Georgia Southern
Regents at GSU
Georgia Southern University President Bruce Grube addresses the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia Tuesday. The body that oversees state colleges and universities met Tuesday and Wednesday in the Nessmith-Lane Continuing Education Center on the GSU campus. It was the first time the Regents had held a formal meeting at Georgia Southern in 18 years. The Regents hold their monthly meetings in Atlanta, except for twice a year when they go to one of the state schools. The 18-member Board oversees 35 colleges and universities made up of four research universities, two regional universities, 13 state universities, three state colleges, and 13 two-year colleges. The system enrolls more than 260,000 students and employs more than 9,000 faculty and 35,000 employees.
