Autopsies on a Candler County couple found dead in their home Saturday morning with gunshot wounds were scheduled to be performed Monday, authorities said.

Janet Karpinsky, 36, and Joseph Karpinsky, 44, were found dead in the home on Highway 23 North in Metter between 7:30 and 8 a.m. Saturday by a family member, said Cyrus Purdiman, assistant special agent in charge at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Statesboro office.

Purdiman said the couple had a history of domestic altercations. GBI is not searching for a suspect, and Purdiman said no further details would be released until after the results of the autopsies were available.
