SEB welcomes Windsor to Brooklet

It’s been a wild season so far for the Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets. They have had a game postponed due to a hurricane, lost a region game to a team that is being invsetigated by the GHSA and could end up forfeiting all games they’ve played, and most recently had a game cancelled due to gang activity at Beach High School. This week the Jackets are set for a region matchup with Windsor Forest.

“We are kind of getting used to having things change at the last minute,” said Southeast Bulloch coach Barrett Davis. “Last Wednesday we found out right before practice, that the Beach game would be cancelled. It will be made up around the last game of the season, which means we will probably have three games in nine days, but again we’ve done this before. It’s not an ideal situation, but you just deal with it, and move on.”

This Friday the Jackets have a chance to improve to 2-1 in region play as they host the Windsor Forest Knights. The Knights come in with a record of 1-3. Their lone win was a 14-6 victory over Class-A Jenkins County. Their losses were 22-14 to Jeff Davis, 26-20 to Beach and most recently a 30-0 region loss to Jenkins.

“Windsor Forest is a pretty solid team,” Davis said. “They have been competitive in most of their games, and are pretty good against the run. We have our next three games at home, and it will be good to have our home crowd behind us at Fred Shaver Field.”

The Yellow Jackets and Knights are scheduled for a 7:30 kickoff in Brooklet.
