Subway Spotlight: ECI's Caleb Pressey

Many great things can be written about the run of success that Emanuel County Institute has enjoyed over the last six years, but all of it can be boiled down to consistency and excellence.
Senior quarterback Caleb Pressey has exuded both of those attributes throughout his career at ECI and got his senior season off to great start last week, guiding the Bulldogs to a 42-7 victory over Metter in the inaugural game of the Erk Russell Classic.
Now in his third year as the starting quarterback, Pressey spearheads one of the most explosive offenses in Class A. Bulldog teams of the recent past relied heavily on running backs like Washaun Ealey, and while there is still plenty of talent in the ECI backfield, Pressey does plenty of damage by himself.
Pressey completed 4 of 8 passes for 82 yards and a touchdown while also racking up 47 yards for himself on the ground.
“There’s no doubt that our offense takes its cues from Caleb,” said ECI coach Chris Kearson. “We have a lot of confidence it his ability to make good plays and to make good decisions. With all of his experience, he knows how to win.”
