Athlete of the Week: Howard powers Bryan County
W Howard
Tiffany Howard is a senior pitcher for Bryan County High School.

For the third straight season, Bryan County is in the Elite Eight of the Class A state playoffs.
A strong core of seniors is at the heart of these perennial runs, but there is no doubt that Tiffany Howard is the heart and soul leading the Lady Redskins in their quest for a state title.
Howard has been the ace of the pitching staff for all three runs to the Elite Eight, and is also a key component of the Redskins’ batting order.
“She can do it all,” said Bryan County coach Al Butler. “Maybe she isn’t the hardest throwing pitcher or the most powerful hitter, but I don’t think that there’s anyone in the state with her all-around talent.”
Along with the praise of her coach, Howard has the stats to back up her Player of the Year candidacy.
This season, she has set new state records with 64 steals and 75 hits – topping her own mark of 73 that she set last year.
Bryan County takes on Gordon Lee at noon today in  first game of the double-elimination tournament to decide a state champ.
