Men’s Tennis Travels to Central Florida The Georgia Southern men’s tennis team will compete in its fifth fall tournament this weekend as the squad travels to Orlando, Fla., for the Central Florida Invitational. Central Florida will host three teams, including Georgia Southern, North Florida and Florida Atlantic in the three-day hidden-dual event. Game 4 of World Series postponed ST. LOUIS — Game 4 of the World Series was postponed Wednesday because of rain and will be made up tonight. That pushed Game 5 at Busch Stadium back to Friday night, which was supposed to be a day off in the Series between the Detroit Tigers and St. Louis Cardinals. Rain was in the forecast through Friday. The Cardinals lead the best-of-seven Series 2-1 after a 5-0 victory behind ace Chris Carpenter in Game 3 on Tuesday night. GSU men’s soccer falls JACKSONVILLE — Daniel Smith’s goal in the 37th minute wasn’t enough to close the Eagles’ regular season with a win, on Tuesday, as Jacksonville defeated the Georgia Southern men’s soccer team, 3-1. Daniel Smith’s (Marietta, Ga.) goal, his second on the season, put the Eagles (8-5-3) up on the scoreboard first. Jacksonville (6-10-1) responded only a few moments later with a winner in the top left corner of the cage, courtesy of the Dolphins’ Greg Roytman. Both teams remained tied at the end of the first half, both tallying a goal and seven shots, apiece. But the second half belonged to Dolphins.
