SAN MARCOS, Texas - Matt Dobson returned an interception 100 yards for a touchdown to help Georgia Southern win its seventh-straight game, holding off Texas State 28-25 on Saturday night.

Georgia Southern (8-2, 7-0 Sun Belt), which came into the game averaging 519.3 total yards (9th nationally), was outgained 439-268, but Texas State (5-4, 3-2) couldn't overcome a pair of third-quarter turnovers, which the Eagles turned into 14 points.

Touchdown runs by Matt Breida and Alfred Ramsby helped Georgia Southern take a 14-3 lead into halftime and, after going three-and-out on its first offensive possession of the second half, Antonio Glover intercepted Tyler Jones' pass, setting up a 43-yard scoring run from Breida.

Texas State responded with a 32-yard touchdown pass from Jones to Ryan Carden to make it 21-10.

After another three-and-out from the Georgia Southern offense, Texas State had fourth-and-goal from the 1 when Dobson's interception return put it out of reach.
