The Eagles also set the standard during the 2010-2011 academic year with a best-ever 2.53 team GPA which includes both the fall and spring semesters.
More than 30 football players earned grade point averages of 3.0 or higher with three earning perfect 4.0 GPAs during the spring semester for President's List honors. Eight were included on the Dean's List for GPAs above 3.5.

Bevillard named Academic All-District
For the second time in as many years, Georgia Southern swimming and diving's Carolina Bevillard has been named to the Capitol One Academic All-District At-Large Team for District III.
A second-team selection last season, Bevillard added first-team honors this season as she completed her collegiate career with a 3.96 GPA. Twice honored as the Georgia Southern Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2010 and 2011, Bevillard was recently awarded one of 13 prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships in the spring of 2011.
In the pool, Bevillard was a four-year letter winner for the Eagles and owns the University record for the 200-yard Freestyle and was a member of four record-setting relay teams. At the 2011 CCSA Championships, Bevillard scored points in all three individual appearances and participated in four relay teams at the championships.
A member of the CCSA All-Academic team, Bevillard posted a perfect 4.0 GPA for seven semesters of her academic career and also helped the Georgia Southern to six consecutive College Swimming Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America Team honors. She earned her degree in Sport Management and participated in Georgia Southern University's Commencement Ceremony last Saturday.
