Edwin Jackson, Georgia Southern’s leading tackler in 2013, was named preseason second-team, All-Sun Belt and its a good thing, because he’s really the only linebacker in the mix that played a lot of football last year. Fortunately for the Eagles, there’s a lot to work with between the lines. Patrick Flowe, who started as a middle linebacker as a true freshman in 2012, missed last year with an injury and so did Antwione Williams, a 6-foot-3, 245-pound outside linebacker with surprising speed for his size.
