On Tuesday at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans at the Sun Belt Football Media Day, SBC commissioner Karl Benson expressed his support for a recent proposal that would change the NCAA Division-I landscape. If it’s voted in, and most athletic directors seem to believe it will be, it will usher in plenty of changes that will affect the entire Football Bowl Subdivision, including Georgia Southern. A proposal to give more power to the five former BCS conferences, now known as the “power five,” and to restructure the legislative body within the NCAA will be voted on Aug. 7.
