Georgia Southern Football returned to the banks of Beautiful Eagle Creek on Friday afternoon for the sixth practice of the spring season. The Eagles got two days off this week after practicing on Monday and Tuesday afternoons. The spring season culminates on April 14 with the annual Blue White Spring Game.
The Eagles take the show to Paulson Stadium on Saturday morning with the first scrimmage of the spring season starting at 10 a.m. Fans attending the game are asked to sit in the stands behind the Eagle bench.
“We’re excited to be out at Paulson Stadium tomorrow, because it is such a special place”, said Head Coach Jeff Monken. “To have an opportunity to be out on that grass, in that stadium and have some people in the stands is going to create some energy for our guys. Defending Paulson is something that we try to stress every time we got out there, and tomorrow will be no different.”
The Eagles practiced 22 periods on Friday afternoon in full pads less than 24 hours before Saturday’s scrimmage at Paulson. The afternoon on the field culminated with two periods of offense versus defense on the main field. Fridays’ practice was also part of the Georgia Southern Football Coaches Clinic in which local high school football coaches watched the Eagles practice.
The annual Blue White spring game is set for 1 p.m. on April 14th at Paulson Stadium and will be preceded by the 6th Annual Little Eagles Camp at 10 a.m. The annual EFAA Reverse Raffle and Auction will also take place at 6 p.m. in Bishop Field House.
