SANDERSVILLE — The Bulloch Academy Gators came from six points down in the fourth quarter to steal a 21-20 road win Friday night over the Brentwood School.
Trevor Darden took a pitch 48 yards on 3rd-and-11 to tie the game at 20 with just 2:01 left on the clock. On the point after attempt, Jordan Walker scooped in a bad snap and Jeremiah Masters got the game-winning kick up and over just in time for the game winner.
Bulloch Academy (3-3) trailed for most of the fourth quarter when Brentwood’s Dalton Harris ended an 11-play, 54-yard drive with a three-yard plunge to give the War Eagles their last lead at 20-14.
Bulloch fumbled the ball three times inside the Brentwood 20 and once on the War Eagle five.
Darden ran for 205 yards on 17 carries and Walker gained 110 off of 16 carries. BA had 411 yards of total offense in the win.
Darden opened the scoring with a 62-yard run in the first quarter, which was answered by a Robert Walls one-yard run for Brentwood to tie the score at seven.
Brentwood took the lead at 14-7 when Walls scored from 19 yards out, but BA answered just before halftime with Walker’s one-yard score to even it up at 14.
Brentwood had the ball with under two minutes, but a pass from quarterback Brent Turner fell incomplete and BA ran out the clock at their own 44.
The Gators return home Friday to face rival Edmund Burke.
