Five area athletes will sign national letters of intent to play football at the next level today.
At 10 a.m., at Statesboro High, Deangelo Tyson, Weldon Watts and Sherrod Natson will all announce their choices for this upcoming fall.
Tyson, a defensive lineman will play at the University of Georgia, a decision he made as a junior at SHS.
Natson, a tight end and wide receiver, will head to Albany to play for the Albany State Rams.
Watts, a linebacker, will play at Georgia Military College in Milledgeville.
In Twin City, LaCollie Gordon and Chad Turner have made their declarations. Turner, an offensive lineman, plans to play at Appalachian State. Gordon has chosen in-state power Valdosta State.
Gordon and Turner made their signing on Monday, as the ECI football team will be in Atlanta today to be honored for their Class A state championship.
No other are schools reported any other signings.
