Jeremy Rosier is the consummate baseball player.
The Screven County junior leads the Gamecocks in RBIs (34), batting average (.479) and hits (34). He's also 3-3 on the mound with a 2.05 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 27 1/3 innings pitched.
"He's been my No. 3 hitter (in the lineup) since about the third game of the year," said SC coach Billy Pollock. "He's got a pile of RBIs. If he has a good strong playoff, he's got a chance to tackle the single-season record."
Pollock also added that the infielder has a chance to carry the Gamecocks deep into the postseason.
"His actions on the field — his demeanor on the field is perfect," he added. "He never gets overly excited, never gets down on himself — and that's how you have to play baseball. He's handled the little low cycle here lately well and he's subject to come out of it in a heartbeat."

Move over Babe Didrikson — Tess Fordham can do it all.
Metter's super senior recently won the GHSA Class AA state title in golf for the second year in a row, adding another credit to her long and impressive resume.
An honor graduate, Fordham has been a regional Punt, Pass and Kick champion, named All-Region in softball, point guard for the high school basketball team, region golf champion, Georgia PGA Junior Tour event winner, Vince Dooley Scholarship winner, Wendy's High School Heisman winner and Georgia Peach Tour winner with a course record score of 68.
Last week she signed a letter of intent to play golf for the University of Georgia, saying a temporary goodbye to the myriad of other sports she's excelled in.
"I'm a little better at golf (than the other sports) so I like it a little but better," she said. "I've been pretty successful so it's been pretty nice."
Fordham began her golfing career at age 12.
