Georgia Southern men’s basketball star Eric Ferguson’s suspension was lifted Monday, effective immediately, according to GSU athletic director Tom Kleinlein.

Ferguson, a 6-foot-8 senior who earned All-Southern Conference honors each year he played in the league, was suspended indefinitely following an offseason arrest with former teammate Brian Holmes.

He was cleared by the school of all “major charges” and will play in Monday’s game at South Florida.

“Eric has complied with and fulfilled all of his obligations relating to his suspension,” Kleinlein said in a statement. “In addition, during this time, Eric went through the University Judicial process, and he was found not responsible for the major charges placed against him. I look forward to Eric being a positive part of our program going forward.”

Ferguson missed the first six games of the season as the Eagles got off to a 4-2 start, with losses against Illinois and Central Florida.

Monday’s game can be viewed online at at 7 p.m.

Ferguson missed the 2013-14 season due to injury.
