WINDER, Ga. -- Mrs. RayNeta Lyons, age 95, of Winder, Georgia, entered eternity June 14, 2018. Mrs. Lyons was born in Statesboro, Georgia, on March 19, 1923, to Seaborn and Nancy Williams Jones Brown, who preceded her.
    Following the death of her first husband, Russell Craig, U.S. Army, in 1943, she moved to Miami, Florida, where she met and later married D.J. "Jim" Lyons, who also preceded her in death.
    She was active in the Floridian Women's Club and continued part-time work as a waitress. Mrs. Lyons later moved to Atlanta, where she spent many years spoiling her grandchildren.
    She was of the Methodist denomination and was a homemaker.
    Surviving are children, Dr. Charles "Brad" Bradley Lyons of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter, the Rev. Susan Burg of Winder, Georgia; grandchildren, Joey (Annaka) Burg, Jamie Burg and significant other, Jay; and Katie Burg; great-grandson, Luke Burg; sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances and Jack Turner of Portal, Georgia; Katheryn and Ray Parker of Rocky Ford, Georgia; Allie Mae Havens of Oklahoma and Bessie Ree Tucker of New Mexico.
    The family will receive friends Friday, June 22, 2018, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
    A funeral service will be held Friday, June 22, 2018, at 2 p.m. in the State Room of Carter Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Jay Hodges officiating. Interment will be in Southern Memorial Park in North Miami, Florida.
    Flowers are welcomed or memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 North Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, Illinois 60601.
