June Shirley Wedincamp Marsh departed this life for eternal life with her Lord and Savior on October 31, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of wonderful memories and a family who adored her.
Born on April 1, 1941, to Alvin and Effie Wedincamp, June grew up in Dorchester Village near Midway, Georgia, and graduated from Bradwell Institute. June met the love of her life, Jerry Marsh, when he came to the coast to work with the Georgia Forestry Commission and they wed in 1959.
June began her career as a dental hygienist before joining her good friend, Pheobe Lanier, to open “The Little School”, a kindergarten in Statesboro, where she had an early impact on many of Bulloch County’s future leaders. June later discovered her talent for real estate, being awarded Realtor of the Year and recognized as a member of the Million Dollar Club multiple times, working first with Johnston Realty and subsequently with Coldwell Banker and Century 21. With her outgoing personality, she loved assisting clients in finding their perfect home and had a true knack for it.
June was also past president, treasurer and member of the local Beta Sigma Phi chapter.
Of all of her roles, June’s favorite was taking care of people, especially her family. Whether preparing a big Sunday lunch after church, planting beautiful flowers, working in the yard or helping with her three grandchildren, June always kept busy. She loved people and animals and over the years she had many pets, including a pot-bellied pig, peacocks, rabbits, a parrot, guinea pigs, a pony and a host of English bulldogs.
June loved all things bright and beautiful and truly saw the best in people.
June enjoyed traveling, meeting new people and was always up for any adventure, whether it was camping in the North Georgia Mountains, swinging on a rope swing at the lake, traveling to New York, Alaska or Europe for the first time, or running dogs and horses in field trials in the Georgia pines. However, her very favorite place to visit was the beach, where she would wake the entire family up far too early to go and enjoy a big breakfast at her favorite beach restaurant. Locally, she loved to eat at Webb’s Nic Nac Grill and Franklin’s Restaurant and, in later years, at Fordham’s Farmhouse.
June may have been small in stature, but had a big personality. She loved fiercely and was a force to be reckoned with. Her family and friends will miss her strong will, sense of fun, style and beauty and great stories from her childhood.
June was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, Milton Oxford; her brother, Kenneth Wedincamp; and her sisters, Sandra Collette and Faye Oxford Raymond.
June is survived by her husband of 67 years, Jerry Marsh; her sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Laura Marsh and Robby and Beth Marsh; and her grandchildren, Will Marsh, Ashley June Marsh and Janna Beth Marsh; as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family wishes to express its heartfelt appreciation to the “Trinity Angels” for the amazing love, support and care that these wonderful ladies provided June during the final year of her life.
