SYLVANIA, Ga. -- Mrs. Mattie Theo Mock, age 85, died Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at Ogeechee Area Hospice inpatient facility.
    The Sylvania, Georgia, native lived in the Savannah area for many years before returning to Sylvania in 1984. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Mock; a son, Terry Mock; and a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Julian Lastinger.
    Surviving are five sons and a daughter-in-law, Glen R. Mock of Sylvania, Derrell A. and Teresa Mock of Beaufort, S.C.; Ricky Mock, Larry Mock and Tony Mock, all of Sylvania; a daughter, Tammy Mock Herrin of Sylvania; 10 grandchildren, Paul Lastinger, Doy Melvin Lastinger, Julie Reimuth, Derrell Mock Jr., Dion and Davon Mock, Crystal Mock Stacy Scott, Cassie and Cody Mock; several great-grandchildren and a great-nephew, Frank Barrs.
    The family will receive visitors on Friday from 3 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro
    The funeral service will follow at 4:30 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
    Pallbearers will be Joseph Reimuth, Tyler Reimuth, Paul Lastinger, Melvin Lastinger, John Dipplito and Dion Mock.
