STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mrs. Mary (Kinchen) Rucker, 91, entered eternal rest Sunday, July 22, 2018, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center of Statesboro, Georgia.
She was a native of Dooley County, Georgia, and is the daughter of the late Warren Kinchen Sr. and the late Ozzie Bell Stripling.
She was a dedicated member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Miami Gardens, Fla., for many years and loved singing in the church choir. She was under watch care in Statesboro, Georgia, with Hodges Grove Baptist Church, Whitesville Full Gospel Church and Agape Worship Center.
Her professional life was spent as a business owner and cosmetologist.
She leaves to cherish her memory; her loving, caring and devoted only child, attorney Lorenzo C. Merritt (Valarie Luckey) of Statesboro, Georgia; two sisters, Ozzie Mae Palmer (James) of Miami, Fla.; Lettie Mae Haughabrook (Bobbie) of Warner Robins, Georgia; one brother, Emmitt Kinchen of Miami, Fla.; three sisters-in-law, Mertis Kinchen, Mary Kinchen, both of Miami, Fla.; Maggie Kinchen of Sebring, Fla.; five grandchildren, Maria, Mazi, Minkah, Cedrick and Juan; two great-grandchildren, Paris and Kingston; one godson, Wilber Kinchen of Miami, Fla.; two special nieces, Alicia Brown and Wanda Faye Ritchey, both of Miami, Fla.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
Visitation: 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2018, at the funeral home.
Funeral service: 11 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2018, in Frank V. Givens Memorial Chapel, Dorchester Funeral Home, 7842 East Oglethorpe Highway, Midway, Georgia 31320. Phone: (912) 884-2431. Interment: private.
