MILLEN, Ga. -- Mrs. Juanita Oglesby Jenkins, age 80, died Friday at her residence surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice.
The native of Twin City, Georgia, lived in Millen, Georgia, for many years. In 1987, Juanita married J.M. “Mack” Jenkins of Statesboro and they made Bulloch County their home.
Juanita was a member of Leefield Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Whitten Oglesby and Lola Johnson Oglesby; and her husband, Mack Jenkins.
Surviving are her three daughters and two sons-in-law, Faye Sasser of Newington, Debra and Louis Perryman of Millen and Judy and Jeff Joyner of Millen; a son and daughter-in-law, Wally Sasser Sr. and Sherrie of Millen; a stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Ronnie and Jenni Jenkins of Statesboro; eight grandchildren, Jill Bazemore, Wally Sasser Jr., and wife, Tara; B.J. Sasser, and wife, Lisa; Chester Joyner, Bryce Joyner, Jennakae Jenkins, Mackenzie Jenkins and John Jenkins; and eight great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive visitors on Saturday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
The funeral service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Jay Reppert officiating. Interment will be in Eastside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Wally Sasser Jr., B.J. Sasser, John Jenkins, Chester Joyner, Bryce Joyner, Trey Sasser, Wesley Sasser and Jake Bazemore.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, GA 30459.
