STATESBORO, Ga. — Mrs. Eileen Koelln Brigdon King, age 91, went to her eternal rest on Friday, May 25th, at Brown's Health and Rehab, under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice.
She was born in Warrenton County, Mo., on November 29, 1926, the second daughter to Mr. John Henry and Mrs. Lydia Wilson Koelln. Mrs. King worked in the war industry in St. Louis during WWII. Her first husband, C.E. Brigdon, was the best friend of her older brother, Erwin Koelln.
Mrs. King was a longtime resident of Brooklet, Ga., and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Ervin Koelln; and her three sisters, Margaret Lang, Alice Rhoades and Kathleen Jarvis.
She is survived by her three children, CWO4 H.E. "Jim" Brigdon and his wife, Margaret, of Marlow, Ga.; Annette Cason of Statesboro; and MSGT Richard King and his wife, Pauline, of Savannah, Ga.; her grandchildren, Sarah Cason, Dawn (John) McDevitt, Alton Brigdon, Richard King Jr. and Erik King; her great-grandson, William McDevitt; and her great-granddaughter, Julia King. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 5–7 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church in Brooklet with Joe Clifford officiating.
Interment will follow at Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be deacons of Immanuel Baptist Church.
